Horse solarium

Increased demand for horse solaria

In the winter months, most of the horse's exercise takes place only in the indoor arena, but also the majority of horse husbandry is based on stall-only or paddock stall husbandry with limited grazing. Therefore, horses lack natural sunlight exposure through daylight. Deficiency symptoms (e.g. vitamin D deficiency) can arise, as this does not correspond to the circumstances of the natural way of life.

The healing effect of irradiation has already been recognized by experienced riders, breeders and veterinarians. As a result, the first devices were developed and introduced to the market more than 30 years ago.  Horse solariums are used not only in the winter months, but all year round, as horses benefit from irradiation in many ways.
